The Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB) has received a loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for improving, expanding the Urban Infrastructure facilities & Urban Services in the two largest cities (Thimphu and Phuentsholing) and one regional centre Dagana. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the following.

One of the packages under Thimphu City Corporation is the Lungtenphu Pilot Area (Package –I): TCC/RC&WTR/002”. 

In consultation with the ADB the Single Stage Single Envelope System of ADB was adopted for the Bidding Process.

The Invitation for Bids was advertised on July 28, 2009 in English in the three local newspapers, namely the “Kuensel, Bhutan Times & Bhutan Observer”.

The bid was open to all eligible domestic private sector Contractors registered with Construction Development Board (CDB) and meeting the following qualifications: 

• Key experience requirement: 5yrs

• Key financial requirement: minimum average annual construction turnover Nu. 98 million in the last five (5) years.

• Key equipment requirement: Excavator, Road roller, trippers, concrete mixer/truck mounted, vibrator, water pump, water tanker, survey equipment, compactor, motor grader, power broom, asphalt plant, asphalt paver, bitumen pre-heater, shuttering plate etc.

• Key personnel for project based requirement: Project Engineer, Road Engineer, Water Supply & Sewerage Engineer, Site Supervisors.
